Osman Tufan

Osman Tufan has graduated from Middle East Technical University (METU), Department of Economics and then, obtained his master degree in Economic at METU. Mr. Tufan worked as a Deputy General Manager of TPIC (Turkish Petroleum International Company), being responsible for the oil and oil product trade in Iraq between the years of 2000 and 2004. In this position, he coordinated the 5.4 million tons of crude oil imports from Iraq. He worked as a Country Manager of TPIC in Azerbaijan and had responsibilities in exploration and production activities of the company after 2004. He has gained valuable experience while working at Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC) which is the consortium formed by the international companies (BP, Exxon, Statoil, Itochu, TPAO, Lukoil, SOCAR).
He worked in Crude Oil Export Team of AIOC as an economist during the evaluation of Early Oil Export options (Baku-Supsa, BakuNovorossiysk, Baku-Ceyhan) between 1995-1997. After this position he worked as a Senior Economist in AIOC with the purpose of developing the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli fields located in the Azerbaijan Sector of the Caspian Sea with reserves of 4.6 billion barrels and project cost 12 billion USD. During this post, Full Field Development Plan economics, Five year (1998-2002) business planning and Export strategy evaluating including pipeline tariff (BTC) studies are carried out and issued to shareholder companies.
