TurkishErsan Petrol Sanayii A.Ş. (Ersan Oil Industry Inc.) is a wholly owned subsidiary of a 50 year old oil and gas production company called “Guney Yildizi Petrol Üretim, Sondaj Müteahhitlik ve Ticaret A.Ş.” (Güney Yildizi Oil Production, Drilling Contracting and Trade Inc.) Ersan Petrol Sanayii AS (Ersan Oil) is planning to build an in-land, mid-size
grass-roots oil refinery on a 300,000 m2 land located in Kahramanmaraş province in the Southeast region of the Republic of Turkey. Presently there is an unused mini-refinery in the plot area that is also belong to the Ersan Petrol A.S. that it will be entirely dismantled and removed for the new refinery construction.
The pre-feasibility study (PFS) was conducted by “Axens of France” to define the refinery concept, process configuration, applicable technologies and overall economics.
The design for the refinery is to process crude oil at capacity of 30,000 BPSD while individual unit capacities to be optimized to handle opportunity crudes available in the region or imported crude from outside of Turkey.
Priority products of the refinery are;
* Diesel (EU V),
* Motor Gasoline (MOGAS – EU V),
* Jet A1 (ATK) and
* Road Bitumen.
TECHNICAL FEATURES:
The main objectives of the pre-feasibility study were;
* Screening of the various process schemes,
* Qualify of the options,
* High-level supply and shipment options,
* Develop the most economical configuration,
* Estimation of CAPEX and OPEX as per International AACE Class V,
* Perform financial and sensitivity analysis with tornado diagrams,
After the screening and initial evaluation of the various schemes were compared to define 30,000 BPSD stand-alone refinery concepts with all necessary offsite and utility facilities (1.400.000 Ton/Year).
